History

The Eye Center of Midland began as Ingram Eye Center in 1993 when Dr. Ronald W Ingram, MD moved to Midland, Texasand started a solo, independent private practice of Ophthalmology—specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of eye disease. The practice began in a small office on Illinois Avenue and rapidly outgrew the office space available. In 1998, the practice moved to its current location off of Andrews Highway and Cuthbert Avenue.

Since its inception, the Eye Center has specialized in correcting eye diseases with particular interest in Cataract, Glaucoma, LASIK Vision Correction, and Cosmetic Eyelid procedures; YAG, Argon, and SLT lasers; and difficult to diagnose ocular conditions.

In 2016, the practice was blessed to add another physician and surgeon, Dr. Colby S. Brownlee, DO—also an Andrews, Texas native. Together, Drs. Ingram and Brownlee welcome the opportunity to serve the people of West Texas and New Mexico with the latest cutting-edge technology in eye care.

We are very fortunate at the the Eye Center of Midland to have the Surgical Center of Midland in the same building.

This means that every surgery by Dr. Ingram and Dr. Brownlee is done at the same location as your preoperative and postoperative exams, and you won’t have the hassle of a hospital or an overnight stay.  The Surgical Center of Midland is an ambulatory surgical center and is considered a separate entity from the Eye Center.
